I was talking last week with one of my children about scary movies.  I don’t watch them.  I’ve never really watched them.

I don’t like to be scared.  There was a time in my childhood where I was scared of most everything.  I think I had enough fear in that short amount of time to last me the rest of my life.  So no, I don’t get scared for fun.  I actually usually get mad when I get scared.  I don’t like it.

That goes well with my job.  If I watched scary movies regularly, I think I would definitely have a hard time doing my job.  I have found myself in some really shady places with no power, boarded windows, creaking floors, and cobweb-filled basements.

Tonight I am thankful that I’ve never been a fan of scary movies!  I started my Monday morning going down in to this crawl space under a house.  I had no hesitation.  But I’m sure that if I’d seen a few select films, I probably would have been a bit more nervous!
