Today was a first in this house. A kiddo had anesthesia. I slept maybe 3 hours last night. I think she slept that much too.
We left the house a little after 7 and headed to the office. I was hoping to be allowed to go back with her until it was time to start her procedure. But no. I had to sit in the waiting room and watch her walk back without me. I didn’t like that at all!
I prayed. I read stuff. I kept looking at the clock. Finally she was done.
If I haven’t mentioned it before, this was for wisdom teeth. I know wisdom teeth are fairly routine, blah, blah, blah. This is my baby!
Everything went well. They actually found some stuff stuck in her gums. A word of caution for those with braces – if the braces keep poking the back of a person’s mouth, it can create an opening and food can get stuck in there. Yuck, right? Exactly. No wonder there have been weird infections for this girl.
When I walked back to see her, my little girl looked so pitiful. They had tied a thing around her head with ice. She had dark circles under her eyes from being so tired and drugged.
And tonight? Well, 13 hours after her surgery I’m telling her to stop riding her bike and no jumping off furniture!!!! Silly kiddo 🙂
Tonight I am thankful that everything went well and my girl is back to feeling wonderful! Now please excuse me as I duct tape her to the couch and stick ice back on her so she wakes up tomorrow feeling just as wonderful!
P.S. She asked if the tooth fairy comes for wisdom teeth 🙂
