Knight

This has been a full week.  Today was the topper.  I had five appointments this morning.  In the prior 24 hours I also added in a need to stop at Sam’s Club to buy some items in bulk for fundraising.

So no pressure, fit this all in and be up at the school at 3 for a performance with my daughter.  I was up before the roosters – honestly my roosters are young and lazy and don’t get up early.  But that’s besides the point.  I was up early!  I got stuff done.  I left somewhat on time.  I was blazing thru my appointments.  I went in and out of Sam’s Club in record time (kind of).  And I was on my way back.

Then the car made a funny loud noise.  Something was definitely wrong.  I got out and looked under the car and inside the car . . nothing visible.  I tried to drive the car some more.  It seemed driveable.  There was definitely something wrong though.  I tried to baby it back to home.  I made it about 15 miles.  Then it died.

I called the hubster.  He left work and came to get me.  I called the wrecker.  They would be there as soon as they could.  We miraculously made it to the school on time!

I had more appointments I was going to do after the performance at the school.  I changed my mind.  That was enough excitement for one day.  The hubster and I picked up a pizza.  The kids are watching Tom & Jerry.  And I’m typing from my bed.  I’ll be snoozing just as soon as I can!

Tonight I am thankful that my car made it as far as it did.  I’m thankful for some kind of safety thing the car has because it appears to have shut itself down before it self-destructed.  This is good because I don’t think I want to know how much a new motor would cost for my car!  I’m very thankful I made it to the school to see my little drummer girl!!  And I’m thankful for the hubster coming to my rescue!  I’m not often a damsel in distress  . . so I hope he truly feels the knight on a white charger feeling tonight 🙂
