I took the kiddos to see the Emoji movie tonight. We waited until it got to the Sun Theater, because we love that theater!
I know I’ve mentioned it before; but it is worth mentioning again! That theater rocks! 5 people in the door for $20. 5 drinks, 3 popcorns, and some candy for under $20. We could barely buy tickets for all 5 of us at a big theater for what we spent total tonight with munchies for all!
Anyway, the movie . . . I was wondering how emoji’s could have their own movie. Now I know. It was pretty cute. And it did try to put the message across that having real friends is better than having ratings online. I didn’t expect that; so it was a nice surprise. It also had the good part of being true to yourself and not changing so people will like you; or so that you fit in to what is expected of you. That was nice too.
Tonight I am thankful for a movie that pleasantly surprised me! Seriously, walking in the doors to the theater tonight, I hadn’t seen a preview and had no idea how little cartoon faces were going to pull together for a whole movie! But they did a great job for kids who are growing up in this phone-centered world.
