Timing

Soooo . . in our neck of the woods, the power went out.  It went out for lots of people in our small town.

We finished cheer practice and came home to the hubster digging the generator out.  We haven’t run the generator in probably around two years.  Oops!  You are “supposed” to run it every so often.  We didn’t.  AND we were out of gas.

Off we went to the store.  We filled up the gas tanks.  We got a few extra batteries, some water, a new spark plug (just in case), and some magical stuff in a can to help the engine start up.

Back home, it took some doing; but we did get the generator started!  Yay!!  We ran a cord to the freezer.  We ran a line to the fridge.  And we ran a line to the office.  We fed the doggies.  We tucked in the kiddos.  And we were just about to head to bed.  Then the power came back on!  Mind you now, that the power company had no estimation of when the power would be back on.  I called four different times!  There were hundreds without power!  Hundreds, I think a little over 500.  No return estimation time.  Then boom, there’s the electricity.  I busted up laughing.  The hubster was not so amused.  My laughter was infectious it appeared; as he was soon laughing too!

Tonight I am thankful for electricity!  I’m thankful that we have it right now!  And I am thankful that we are pretty well set up for the next time that we don’t have it!
