Peace

I have been so excited!  I have waited almost two years for Financial Peace to go on sale!  Sounds silly, doesn’t it?  I mean here we have been working on our budget and smashing out debt; but I didn’t feel comfortable spending the amount on the actual class.

Last week, I happened to open up facebook.  There happened to be a live streaming Dave Ramsey event.  And Financial Peace happened to be on the best sale it had been on!!  It was time!  It was our time!!

Now I am having a hard time tearing myself away from the lessons!  As always, there is something to learn!  There is always something to learn!  I signed up for EveryDollar, the budgeting app.  I thought I had a pretty good system with my excel sheet.  But, I knew it had a few holes in it.  EveryDollar is a free tool.  There is a paid version also.  But the free version is great.

This weekend I thought I had us all set up.  Now I keep thinking of other things to add.  I am finally going to hold myself accountable for my amazon spending.  This is a huge deal!  I had a little place where my spending did not match up with the budget because I allot a certain amount each week for “household” stuff in cash.  I don’t buy from amazon with cash.  And to be quite honest, I’d rather not fess up to my amazon spending.  So, it’s been swept under the rug from time to time.  Now, I have it out in the open.

Onward and upward we go in to this next and better phase in our budgeting lives!  I’m excited!  I’ve been listening to the podcasts.  I keep listening to these people who have paid off everything they have, including their house.  I keep reading on these facebook sites, these people who owe absolutely nothing to anybody!  That will be us!  That will be our family!  And this will be our legacy to our children, to live in freedom from debt!!  I get so excited when I think of what their lives will be like; never having to borrow money from anyone . . ever!  They will be able to chase any dream they ever have.  They will be able to be generous and giving whenever they want!  And they won’t stress about what bill the mailman might bring to their door!  They will live in Financial Peace!

Tonight I am thankful for getting recharged on our journey!  This will be amazing!
