Last year we cut down our very last alive Christmas tree. The tree looked fairly sad in our living room. It had lights and tinsel. It was fluffy looking. But, the branches were weak to hold ornaments. And the needles were poky to children who were decorating. So the fluffy looking tree had very few actual ornaments.
The hubster had been wanting a fake tree for a while. And finally I had to agree. I love a lot of things about a real tree. But, if no one wanted to touch it; then it really wasn’t worth the price or the mess anymore. We waited until after Christmas was over to find our first fake tree on clearance. It was pre-lit and could have either white or colored lights.
I actually ordered it online on clearance and had it shipped for free to our door. When it arrived, we put it down in our basement. We didn’t even take it out of the box!
Last Friday we got the tree out. It fits our house perfectly! We’ve had the lights turned on. But, we hadn’t decorated the tree until tonight. I had very puffy tinsel for the real trees we’d had in the past. This new tree needed slightly thinner tinsel. The ornaments have been waiting for me to get new tinsel. Today I remember and I stopped and got some.
Tonight I am thankful for our Christmas tree! It looks great! It has ornaments actually hung on it this year! I’m going to spritz it with wintergreen essential oils for that Christmas tree smell 🙂
