Flexible

One thing that I may lose sight of from time to time is the flexibility of my job – which was the reason I started down this road years ago.

My daughter has been on a cancellation-call list at the dentist for about a week.  It was for an issue that had me a bit concerned.  So I definitely wanted her in as soon as possible.

Today after school, the dentist called.  How soon could we be there?  They were open right then and for the next two hours!  Except, I had a client waiting for a file that they felt was very important.  My plan had been to finish that file after I got back home with the kids.

Of course my daughter’s mouth was more important!  But, I had already promised this client that they would have this file.  And the terrific thing is that I didn’t have to choose.  I grabbed my laptop, re-arranged the waiting room furniture (I put it back, don’t worry!), and got to typing while the dentist worked her magic on my daughter!

Tonight I am thankful that as the children have grown, and my time has become a little more free; this job is still a huge blessing to be available when I am needed!
P.S.  Teeth are fixed and file is completed!  Yay!
