New Goals

A New Year is almost upon us!
I like the excitement of goal setting for a new year!  I hear so much negativity about New Year’s goals, and how they are just wishes that last merely weeks.  Some are.  But some aren’t.
You can’t discount a whole new year of possibilities because some goals didn’t work out!  I never discounted Christmas the year I didn’t get that toy I wanted when I was 5!  Life is what you make of it.  And I personally, use New Year’s Eve to set some goals for the upcoming year.

This time last year, I knew there were big changes coming.  I just knew that 2017 was going to be big!  And it has been!  More so than I imagined!  And from here, I see 2018 and the following years just multiplying this!  I have learned so much this past year.  And I have so much more to learn!

One of the things that I tend to do is to overwhelm myself with ideas.  Does anyone else do that?  I have so many ideas that swarm around inside my brain, that I eventually just kind of shut it all down.  That is why I am making an even bigger effort for 2018 to be mentally organized . . *DUN DUN DUUUNNNNN – dramatic music*

I have moments of spectacular organization in life!  And the rest is messy.  I have been working on this, physically and a bit mentally.  2018 will have a lot more mental organization moments.  Blocking off time to organize goals, plan action steps, and recap on past goals . . . these will be good things for me!  I was doing this for a bit in 2017, when I was part of a program that required it.  Now will be my time to do this on my own!

Tonight I am thankful for the clean slate of a new year!  You may feel like baggage follows from year to year.  But, it doesn’t always have to!  You have the ability to change what you don’t like!  Even if you don’t feel like it.  Even if you don’t see how you could.  You can!  You just have to find a way!
