A lesson that I’ve learned a few times over with the kiddos now has been that education has a lot more options than I knew about. I always kind of knew that there were other options out there. But, I hadn’t really delved in to any research on that.
Over the years, we’ve done homeschooling three different ways, virtual learning when not mandated, regular public school, career center, and a hybrid public school with college. Just when I thought that we had it all figured out, a kiddo needed something different. And I’ve been digging thru materials and contacting numerous schools and people for the past two weeks. I’ve been hitting dead end after dead end. Then, finally, today, I have a lead!
I want to give a shout out to the organization HSLDA – Home School Legal Defense Association. I joined them last year and found a ton of good information! There was an annual fee, but it was well worth it. Recently my account came up for renewal and I wasn’t sure if I needed to renew; I thought I had a good handle on things. I did end up renewing. And now I am so thankful!
Tonight I am thankful for HSLDA’s information and guidance! I have a few things to check out over the weekend still. But if it all works out, I may have an announcement soon of another kiddo graduating . . yes I have a senior. But, I mean like, graduating now. The kiddo has the state required credits already. And honestly some situations are just healthier to exit when there is no growth and overall nothing positive happening for an individual.
