I have worked appraising HUD foreclosures for well over a decade. It is of no surprise to me that I have to photograph crawl spaces. It is second nature to get close and take a peek.
And that is how I found myself today, standing a few feet below the ground in a bilco door opening, knowing that I had to hurt myself to get out.
If only the other door had been the primary opening door, I could have used my left side more. But no, that wasn’t the case. So I removed my arm from the sling, arranged myself very awkwardly, and did put weight on my right arm to get out. I am pretty sure I looked quite comical.
Tonight I am thankful that I got out of the whole. It hurt, but it could have hurt worse. And for the short foreseeable future, I will be using my ladder for things like this, so I don’t find myself in this situation again while healing!
