Nest

I don’t remember all the details. But, I remember going to Tulsa my senior year to do a campus tour of the college I had dreamed about. It was fantastic! Then I remember getting to my dorm that fall and feeling devastated.

Granted I had cried for hours and hours the day before, leaving this boyfriend fellar (now the hubster) and driving down. So I was tired, emotionally exhausted, and walked in to a dorm room that felt like a jail cell; not at all like the warm and inviting dorm I had toured months prior. Thankfully my mom was there! She shared some ideas, took me shopping, and made the place feel much better.

Fast forward a couple years, I was back home, and bought my first house! At the ripe old age of 19, I was learning as I went with home ownership. Some of the tasks seemed daunting to make my new house in to a home. And there was my mom, helping and giving support to have my new place filled with love and respectful living conditions!

Tonight I am thankful for my mom being there when I was leaving the nest, spreading my wings, and needing my new nest to be my new home. I am thankful for the opportunity to be there for my kiddo and bonus kiddo now that it is there new nest. I know and pray for countless moments of happiness for them here ❤
