My journey back to this healthy girl has been filled with too many detours! Twelve years ago I had more time to work-out, more time to cook, and less injuries.
No, I haven’t prioritized my health. I haven’t eaten the healthiest of foods. I haven’t kept to a consistent work-out schedule. Yes, I have re-committed countless times to getting back to this healthy place! Seriously, I lost count of how many times.
I’ve learned a few lessons along the way. 1) Consistent sleep is more important that diet or exercise. 2) My resolve to eat healthy fails quickly when I am tired, overwhelmed, injured, or short on time. 3) This isn’t one of the things that I can just decide to do in one decision; this needs a plan.
So, here I am (again). I need to get healthier again. I had been making a plan that was quickly derailed with my arm in a sling. I have made a few changes here and there that have had good results. Today I made plans to have a work-out partner in a few weeks.
Tonight I am thankful for regrouping (again) to get healthier! That is what is important, right – to never give up?! I have had many detours, but have never given up. One way or another, I plan to give myself a Christmas present of increased health this year! I’ve got goals! And a bit more wisdom on how to realistically get there this time!
