Preparation

One week from right now, I’ll be back home after my first day with Escalate Love at the Mid-Michigan’s Women’s Expo! 

I have a few things left to do. There is enough time to do the things that I need to do.

The biggest preparation is inside my head! This is a continual preparation! I’ve done booths before for Ethos Real Estate West! But, that was a little different. Real Estate is pretty straight forward. And, I don’t sell houses at events. So, the events were talking about future housing wants and needs. I can do that all day long.

This time, there may be some pretty heavy conversations. This time, there will be more discussions. This time, my heart will be on my sleeve a lot more than it needs to be with real estate. This time is a much larger audience than I have done before. 

I heard a very wise perspective that I am keeping at the front of my mind. ”What happens if I don’t do this?”. I know my “why” with this business. I know the families that I want to help. And that is a big why. But, what happens if I don’t do this? How many more families will hurt? How many more teenagers and adults will feel like failures? How many more will give up on each other and maybe more? How many people that could have hope and positive steps to make things better, just wouldn’t? And that is it. That is the preparation I need. This is more important than the things that cloud my drive.

Tonight I am thankful for about a week left of preparation! I will forget something. I will mess up when talking to people. Heck, I’ll probably do something like have a fabric softener sheet stick out of my pants or something. But the important thing is that we will be there! We will be there offering hope and help to thousands of people. And if we reach even one, this is worth it! ❤️
