A personal flaw is that I am horrible at recognizing and/or noticing people. I try. Well, sometimes. I’m just really not good at it. Face masks during covid were helpful because then more people sucked at recognizing people; just like me even before facemasks! 🤣
When the kiddos were little, I would dress the ones more prone to wander in brightly colored shirts so I could find them easier. I do try to safeguard against my own short comings!
Big moments, like finding my kiddo running with his platoon during Family Day, have me questioning my ability even with concentrated efforts. I talked myself thru it. Ok, the guy with flag will be in the front, so I can find the right platoon. I can find that. Then, they should be alphabetical, right? So I should look towards the back.
This morning we found the guy with the flag! But, right behind him, it looked like it was my kiddo! Because it was my kiddo! They were not alphabetical, but I still saw him! Hooray! It was a Marine Mom Miracle! 🙂
Tonight I am thankful for spotting my kiddo today! I am thankful for getting to hug my kiddo today! I am thankful for getting to talk to my kiddo today! Tomorrow is graduation! And I am thankful that I’ll be able to take my kiddo back home tomorrow! ❤️❤️❤️
