There is a Bible verse that says God will give you the desires of your heart. That is a slippery slope. Let’s back up Psalm 37:4 says “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart”.
You may be thinking, why? Why do we have to do the first part first? There is a very good reason! When you learn to delight yourself in the Lord, then your heart gets on the right track. Then the desires of your heart are good. They are just. They are not self-seeking. They don’t keep a record of wrongs. The desires of your heart become the definition of love, when you learn to delight yourself in the Lord.
Tonight I am thankful for the opportunity to keep my heart in check to see the blessing in the upcoming peaceful, easy, and cherished ascension to Heaven that a very special woman will be making soon. I can’t even remain with selfish thoughts that she should stay here, because I know she will be greeted in Heaven with the biggest and most love infused hugs!
