See the chair on the right? That’s where he sat.
I’ve been doing so good. Listing this house. Yesterday with the photographer. Today, getting it up for sale. I had my focus on other things. I was good.
Then, before I left, I sat on a chair to the left, just outside of this picture. I was answering messages on my phone. I glanced up and saw his chair, without him. I got up and walked away to find something else to think about.
Tonight I am thankful that they were already planning on moving. I am thankful that I won’t have to work on being ok with being in that room without him in his chair. There are different ways to heal, to grieve, and to remember; and sometimes the best way is not staring at things like that.
