Peace

It’s been a few months since I’ve stopped at one of my secret places. I mean, well, they aren’t really secret. They are on maps. But, they are my secret places. They are places that I stop at to just breathe in peace.

Today I left late for my appointments because our toilet wouldn’t flush. Nothing was moving at all. The sink and tub weren’t draining well either. Unfortunately I didn’t think to try them until I was fighting with the toilet for at least fifteen minutes. Then I called to get the septic tank emptied.

They came while I was gone. The tank did need to be emptied. But the toilet still had issues. So, I was going to stop at the farm store and get a few things to go home and fight a toilet. There are lots of other things that I would prefer to do than that!

I came up to one of my favorite spots on the drive back! It was warm enough. I was wearing my boots. The sun was out. I braked at the last minute and pulled in! I am so glad I did! It was beautiful!

Tonight I am thankful for stopping for a few minutes at a beautiful place by the river. I am thankful for the serene quiet of the snow covered area and the spots where the water still moved.

And, I am thankful that I got our toilet working! Not near as pretty or as peaceful; but definitely just as important! 🤣
