It is done. Marky’s internment is completed. His stone will be up in a week or two. The ceremony was very respectful, organized, and quick. He would have appreciated that. It was a small number of people, he would have liked that too; only close family was there.
We stopped for lunch on the way home. I truly could not eat a lot. I did have my first alcoholic drink since the gall bladder stuff. No adverse reactions, so that is something to be thankful for.
Overall though, I don’t care for today. But there was a lot to be thankful for.
So tonight, I am thankful for the ceremony that was done well. I am thankful for the family that came. I am thankful that this part is done; the gun salute and taps always makes me cry. I am thankful that the rain held off until we were on our way home. I am thankful that the sun was out while we were outside. And I am thankful that today is done.
