Energy

When I was a kid and I was upset, I would take off running across the field across from our house. There was a group of trees in the middle of the field with a giant rock to sit on. And that is where I’d run to. That could be a hard run on frozen ground, when corn was the last crop there, and I was wearing winter boots! But, that’s not the point.

The point is that sometimes, something like that is very helpful. Your mind quiets down and your body chills a bit, having used up some of that upset-energy.

Tonight I took off on a bike ride. The first few miles weren’t enough, so I kept going. Soon I was doing the 14.5 mile route. Good plan. Except, I started being pretty calmed down around mile 8 or 9. But I had to keep going to get home!!

Tonight I am thankful for a good bike ride tonight to expel some upset-energy, pray, and get my head where it should be. ❤️
