Smiles

There have been other years that I’ve written about my nativity set. And this year continues the tradition!

I looked for a long time, years even, for a nativity set where the people were smiling!! That is actually very hard to find! But think about it, Mary and Joseph just made it to Bethlehem and have baby Jesus! They would definitely be smiling! The shepherds walked all that way, they would be smiling! The three wise men risked a lot to make it there, and they were finally there! They would absolutely be smiling! The angel, probably even the animals! I mean, can you imagine the feeling of being in the barn that night? I’ll bet it was the most electrifying and peaceful feeling! They had to have been smiling!

So, I searched. I wasn’t going to settle. I looked at Bronners, where they many, many, many nativity sets. Nope, they didn’t have smiles. I looked in stores, magazines, etc. And finally one day, I was in a home improvement store . . I want to say Home Depot, but I don’t remember. And there was a smiling nativity set! It was actually being sold as a toy set for children. They are made of wood, carved, and painted. And I love them!

Tonight I am thankful for my smiling nativity set! I’ll check with God one day, but I’m sure they were all smiling there. They just had to have been! ❤️
