I think one of the keys to life is to find the spot where you can list 1) what you want 2) what is reality 3) what the best probable outcome is, and then reconcile those in your heart to find contentment, peace, and gratitude.
This Christmas what I want is for everyone to be here.
The reality is that one family is states away. And two people are celebrating their second Christmas in Heaven.
The best probable outcome, given the reality is happening. We celebrated Christmas Eve a little different this year and everyone had fun. Our our of state lived ones had their Christmas package arrive today, so they got to celebrate with us today too!! And our Heavenly loved ones get to celebrate all the time where they are!
I can find contentment here – my dream day of today wasn’t possible. But this day, it turned out pretty well. I found peace in today, seeing all the smiles (even the out of state smiles – thanks for the pics!). And I am very grateful!
Tonight I am thankful for today. For someone like me who questions, challenges, and does not live with the belief of just accepting things as they come; there is a beauty to laying down the things in my head to appreciate the enormous blessings that God has in my life right now ❤️. Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
