My absolute favorite of all kiddo field trips is the Mackinaw Island trip!!
It was a little bittersweet tonight to leave the house for my last, first meeting for a fourth grade Mackinaw trip. The trip isn’t until spring. This was the first meeting to go over information with parents. Can you imagine my surprise when it was announced that this trip will be a little different.
For each of the previous three children, we had lunch in a park (full of bugs that hatch in the spring) overlooking the bridge. The view was beautiful. The bugs were overwhelming.
For this trip, my last fourth grade trip to Mackinaw, on this trip, we will eat lunch at the Grand Hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted to go in the Grand Hotel! What a way to end my parent-chaperone tour with my fourth grade kiddos! I may now be more excited about this trip than my fourth grader!
Tonight I am thankful for having lunch at the Grand Hotel! It is like 8 months away and I can already taste it!!!
