Public Etiquette

I have thought about sleeping in public now more as a parent than I ever thought I would have.

Kids’ dentist appointments have been my number one place where I have this thought.  Remember that I have four children.  A dentist office is slow to let me book every chair in their facility for my one family.  I understand their risk, if I were to not show; they would have staff doing nothing for a while.  So usually they go back two by two.  Which means I am sitting there for close to two hours.  Our dentist now has a kid toy/waiting room with a couch and lots of pillows.  I fell asleep there last time.

Today my daughter had a MRI.  Yeah . . . parents really just sit in the waiting room for that.  There was this line of seats next to a wall.  So I was that person that got all comfy leaned against the wall and taking up lots of seats.  In my defense, there was only one other lady waiting for someone out of like 7 rows of seats in that very large waiting room.  I did not fall asleep today though.  They had an intriguing show on tv.  Darn tv, stealing my waiting-room nap time!!

Tonight I am thankful for a lack of care for my waiting room etiquette.  I should probably care more that I have slept in public and put my dirty shoes on chairs.  But I don’t.  Nope, I just don’t.  And I’m really ok with that!  I was much comfier than the other woman in the very large waiting room who confined herself to just one seat!!
