I try to remember to say Thank You. I’m sure I forget sometimes. But, I try. I remind my kids to say thank you. Besides that this blog is about being thankful for something in life; I try to remember to be thankful for others and whatever moments they share niceness in.
If you would have asked me just a little while ago, on a scale of 1 to 10 where I was with gratitude, I think I would probably rate myself a 7 . . probably. Well, here’s the thing . . . I say Thank You pretty well. But, how often do I show Thank You? Um . . . I don’t know. I feel like my children when I ask them when the last time was they changed their bed sheets. I’m just really not sure . .
I have an aunt that is very good at the showing of gratitude. She recently bought a vehicle. There were some circumstances where the salesman went above and beyond to help her out. She had pizza delivered to the dealership! What an awesome idea! I wouldn’t have thought of that.
A few weeks ago, a service person bumped up an appointment and completed their work super fast for a real estate deal that I was helping with. I sent an email saying thank you. But I decided that this was my first opportunity! I stopped in at Meijer and bought a gift card. I mailed it out the next day with a thank you card. I was smiling as I put it in the mailbox!! That felt really great to show my appreciation, rather than just saying it.
I decided that this is something I must do more often! Today I stopped in at Sam’s Club. I knew they had a gift card section where a person could buy multiple cards at once. Guess what? There was a one day sale going on. I saved a total of $36 on my gift card purchases today!!! You can’t tell me that this wasn’t a blessing from above on this new life practice!
Tonight I am thankful for a drawer now stocked with little tokens of appreciation to send out! They aren’t big gift cards. But they are something a little extra to show gratitude along with a Thank You!
