Everyone needs a good sounding board. I am very blessed to have a few people in my life who I know will listen to my crazy ideas and tell me when I am getting too crazy.
One of those people for me is my mother. I called her today with an idea. I told her that I was even thinking that this idea was crazy. I don’t always think that an idea being crazy makes it bad though. So I needed a second opinion.
A good sounding board is polite. She listened, like really listened. And yes, agreed that maybe the idea was a little crazy. But, then she provided good reasons for why the idea might be crazy in a bad way.
That’s what I needed.
Back to the drawing board. I have been brainstorming for a few weeks here. And I know there is a good idea out there that will work wonderfully. I haven’t found it yet. But, when I do, it will be solid . . . and maybe a little crazy.
Tonight I am thankful for a good sounding board! I am thankful for one million wrong ideas that make way for the one right idea that will work! And that one right idea will make the million wrong ideas worth the wait!
