Was it last month? I think it was last month. I was supposed to have jury duty. I had a brilliant idea of sticking the summons to a bulletin board, because I was sure to see it there . . . right? Wrong.
I contacted the Jury Duty people and explained my mistake. I asked for another chance. Not because of my desire to be on a jury! But, because of my desire not to get a fine for not calling or showing up!
The very nice people let me pick between a range of weeks for my next shot at jury duty. Upon the advice of the hubster, I picked the 4th of July week. I was guaranteed to at least not be needed on the 4th!
This week, on the required nights, I’ve called and held my breath while waiting for the recording to tell me my fate for the next day! And now, on this Thursday night, I can officially declare that I have made it the entire week!! No jury duty! AND I’ve remembered to call!! (This time I had put reminders on my calendar!)
Tonight I am thankful that I didn’t have to go in for jury duty!!! This has made my week!!
