DIY

Several years ago we invested in a Soda Stream to make our own pop.  It worked great!  We had all sorts of flavors and bottles.

The bottles were marked as NOT dishwasher safe.  Yet, the bottles mysteriously kept ending up in the dishwasher.  Soon the bottles were not in very usable shape.  And at some point I gave up.  The Soda Stream went to the basement next to the Quesadilla maker and the George Forman Grill.

For the past several weeks I have been making about a 75% attempt at being healthier.  My biggest downfall?  Pop.  Why?  I don’t like coffee.  I don’t like tea.  I don’t like a lot of things.  I like water and milk . . . . and that’s about it.  That gets pretty boring!

Over the weekend I ran in to grab a few things at Meijer and walked by the Soda Stream display.  I picked up the “Cola” syrup and read the nutritional facts.  Guess what?!?  I had forgotten that it was less than half the calories, carbohydrates, and sugars as regular Coke!!  And cheaper!!

I put that Cola syrup right in to my basket!  I didn’t care for the prices of the bottles at the store.  So, I came back home and ordered up some cheaper bottles from Amazon . . . which arrived today!

I’ve promised myself not to go crazy with this of course.  But, this is delicious 🙂  And, I won’t feel near as bad for indulging in some pop now!

Tonight I am thankful for bringing the Soda Stream back from its basement retirement!  This should help immensely 🙂

This is my favorite cup.  The poor snowmen have seen better days due to excessive washing.  But the contents are definitely delicious!
