Thirty Four

Tomorrow is a big day! Tomorrow is the 34th anniversary of my Mommy and my Marky!

Their love story has God written all over it ❤️ They worked together when they met. He asked her out, she said no. I believe he asked her out again, and she said no. She needed help with our furnace and he saw his opening! He came out to the house to help with the furnace and they talked over coffee for awhile.

Soon they went out on their first date. He took her a fancy restaurant. She wasn’t used to being at such a nice place and broke down in tears. He thought she might be crazy for crying about a nice restaurant. He dropped her at home and didn’t plan on talking to her again. 🤣 God had other plans.

Although he had his bedroom phone’s ringer turned off, she called him that night to apologize for crying and ruining dinner. The phone range and woke him up. Now, this man could sleep thru a train whistle. And he never turned that bedroom phone’s ringer on. But, somehow, that night, it rang and woke him up. 💕

My mom told me once many, many years ago that if anything ever happened to him that she wouldn’t ever date again. She said she would have no desire to, because with him, she finally knew what it felt like to be loved completely.

Tonight I am thankful for these two examples of what loving one another is. They fight. They tease. They compromise. They talk. They are friends. They are partners. They take care of each other. They care about each others’ happiness, dreams, and the silly little things that make each other smile. Happy Anniversary to my very own M & M! ❤️
