I’ve mentioned a little how I’m just not doing all the “things” this Christmas season. I did randomly find out that my kiddo likes the trees that look like they have snow on them. Then a snow tree popped up on the sale site I watched for cheap – I think it was $30 or $35. So I ordered one to surprise him. I was thinking I would put it in the upstairs hallway.
But, it came and I liked it. I hadn’t gotten out our regular tree. We were still discussing maybe getting a real tree. So, we just put this one up since we hadn’t decided yet.
I am not getting all my Christmas boxes out of the basement. So I stopped in at Dollar Tree and got a few ornaments in red. I have oodles of lights. But again, they are in the basement. So I let my kiddo pick out lights at Meijer.
And viola, our Christmas tree with decorations for around $50. I would like to add cranberry garland. But, let’s be honest. I’m not going to make that right now. And they didn’t have any at Dollar Tree, so I’m good!
Tonight I am thankful for our Christmas tree this year! It isn’t just a nice looking, budget friendly tree. It is a reminder that changing things to what brings you comfort and peace are worth the disruption to traditions and “norms”!
