Several years ago my kiddo’s Girl Scout troop was sent a “Flat Juliette”, like a Flat Stanley (from the book). Juliette was a Girl Scout that was flat and laminated. She had traveled with other Girl Scout troops before coming to ours. We took her with us that year on our Christmas time fun! That year we decided to stop at Dunkin Donuts to get donuts before Christmas shopping and we took Flat Juliette with us. We hadn’t actually ever eaten inside the Dunkin Donuts close to us and we were pleasantly surprised by the eating area. There was a fireplace, a table and chairs by the fireplace, and a chess set!
That’s where it started. Every year since then, we have started out our Mom and Kiddo Christmas shopping at Dunkin Donuts, eating by the fireplace. The chess set disappeared a few years ago. And the fireplace is rarely on anymore. But, it is still a neat area. And still our starting point!
Tonight I am thankful for Christmas shopping with my kiddos today! I look forward to this every Christmas season! They have their favorite stores that they want to shop at. And some years we stop add in new stops. We were missing one kiddo and one new bonus kiddo this year. But, we printed out a picture of them and brought them with us! I hope they had fun being flat . . like the Flat Juliette that started us off!! 😁😁
