I haven’t liked this wall since we moved in here, a little over a year ago. Maybe it is because I am a child of the 80’s when paneling seemed to multiply in homes like bunnies? I don’t know. Maybe because I am in real estate and know that this was added at some point to cover something up that was wrong – I highly doubt this was actually style choice. But, who knows? The fact is that I’ve wanted to change this wall for awhile now!
But, I didn’t know what color I wanted to use. And life has been filled with so many things since we moved. This wall just got pushed to the bottom of the to-do list over and over again.
One day the hubster and I were at a home improvement store. I don’t remember which one. Probably Menards. Anyway, I always check the paint mis-tints. I’m not super picky on most colors. So I love the savings if the color gets me in the ballpark of an eye happy decor choice. We found this tan-ish type color for $9 and I thought we’d give it a shot on the weird wall of the paneling patch. That was months ago.
Sunday at approximately 5:30pm I decided I could paint the wall pretty quick. 🤣 Well, it wasn’t “pretty quick” for one wall. The grooves in the paneling and the extra trim pieces everywhere took longer than I had anticipated. But, viola! The finished product is WAY better than the beginnig!
Tonight I am thankful for our $9 mis-tint finally getting up on the wall and making the room look so much better!! Hooray!
