What You Leave Behind

Today I watched siblings stand as one to support each other and grieve together.  Some siblings were there in spirit, and that is just as important!  Can you imagine living 98 years and getting to watch your children be friends and be there for each other?  That is a life goal of mine.  It is in the top five of life goals actually.  It has been a life goal of mine since deciding to have children.

I have always thought that is one of the best gifts I could give my kiddos, each other.  And the skills to be and stay friends with each other, even with great variations of personalities.  They are stronger together.  Their differences can make them stronger.  And how wonderful it would be to go thru your days having a friend with such long threads to your life! !

Today I am thankful that I’m sure my Grandma saw her kiddos be there for each other today.  I can imagine her smile and her “Ohhh!” while she watched them with her hand in my Grandpa’s.  He’s probably never going to let go of her again!  And I’m sure he is smiling proudly at them too.  They did very good!  They took care of her when he couldn’t.  And they made her happy when he wasn’t there too.  What a legacy of love those two have left behind!  I am so thankful to be a part of it and to continue it ❤
