Assistance

Its been many years since I had a first hired an executive assistant. At the time I was so far behind that I didn’t have time to train. And I honestly needed someone to bring ideas and experience in with them to help me unwind the mess I had made with a thriving business that I did by myself for far too long.

After research and conversations, I used a company called Belay. I still highly recommend them. They paired me with Vickie and she was definitely someone that God had set aside to help me. Her abilities shined in bringing order to chaos like mine. We worked great for a good amount of time. And then her work needs took her elsewhere.

About that time family needs had changed. My grandma and my Marky needed more care. So working from home became greatly important to my Mom. My Mom is a detail and order person. I am an idea and whirlwind person. My Mom had doubts at first 😆 She reviewed the procedures that Vickie had put in place. And she was much less afraid of my chaos!

This arrangement has worked very well over the years. Now, as I am looking at closing the appraisal business some time before November, 2026; my Mom is excited. She is hanging in there just to help me out. And I greatly appreciate it!

Especially on a day like today. She nicely suggested this morning that she could change my appointments for tomorrow so I could rest and heal more. Me, being outrageously stubborn, told her I’d be ok. A bit after noon, I finally admitted the truth. No, I will not be ok driving around and going around multiple houses tomorrow. Mom was right.

Tonight I am thankful for my Mom calling and rearranging my schedule tomorrow. She said everyone was very understanding. Appointments are moved. Deadlines are extended. No one hates me because of it. And my chaotic self can stay in bed another day to heal up! ❤️
