They had told us to wait until 2 years old for a Great Pyrenees. Well, when she hit two years old, she was like Tigger, from Winnie the Pooh; all bouncy and never holding still. I just didn’t want to try to keep the spring-like dog calm after a surgery, so we waited.
Then she got a smidge older. And this dog has had pms like I have never seen with a dog before! After this last time, it was enough! And it was finally time to schedule a spay.
Today was the day. She was so excited this morning to go for a ride in the car! She was happy that there were no other animals in the vet’s waiting room! She was friendly with the staff. I was ok driving away. I didn’t cry, like I would have if she had panicked.
Now she’s home. She keeps wanting snuggles. She looks so pitiful! 😦
Tonight I am thankful that this is just temporary! She’ll heal up and all will be well! In the meantime, I’ll just spend a lot of time hugging my girl!
