Today was such a neat start to the day! It is always an honor when I get to work with the Amish and Mennonite communities. To see glimpses in to a simpler life. It just makes my heart warm a bit.
Honestly a part of me thinks it would be cool . . like it would have been amazing to have been able to stay home with my babies and work just on/in our home. BUT, I am a terrible gardener . . so we would have went hungry 🤣 I do enjoy cooking and baking when time is slow and I can truly enjoy it. But, would I like to do it all three meals and for large groups . . eh . .
Am I that fond of technology? Or is so engrained in our daily lives that we simply don’t know how to live without it? Well . . I think a little of both. Because washing machines are pretty awesome. But I could stand to be in front of a screen a lot less.
At the end of the day and my wandering thoughts today, I am thankful for my life, just as much as I’m sure they are thankful for theirs. I have been very blessed to be able to work in a way that my kiddos were with me 95% of the time. And although our house was never taken care of like I wanted and the meals were not always the most nutritious; our path has been filled with love. Really the rest of the things are just details. Their kiddos, my kiddos, they smile because they know they are loved and they bask in that comfort. And that is what matters. ❤️
