I was going to rent a car today. I had a reservation. I wasn’t happy about the reservation. A lot of the rental car places are closed due to COVID. So I had to drive to the airport, where they have a car-cleaning procedure.
I got there early, hoping to get everything taken care of and get back home. There was a long line of people, ONLY at the car rental company that I had reservations at. Apparently I’m not the only one that booked online and was driven to their site.
After 40 minutes, I found out that they did NOT have the vehicle that I had reserved. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I did politely leave and get back in to my own vehicle. I did NOT pull a Karen and make a scene! Go Me!
I did have the start of a migraine, as this stressful episode topped off my day. Out in my van, driving home, I took some ibuprofen and apple cider vinegar. And I put on peppermint.
I did not want my evening ruined. So I started down the thankful path.
Tonight I CHOSE to be thankful that my van drives perfectly fine. I have one kiddo who tends to get carsick. Four teenage bodies in a minivan designed for the weight capacity of four little kiddos, has been making the minivan drive a little different; which has set off the car-sick kiddo. So the rental for this weekend was just for funsies to avoid sickies. I CHOSE to be thankful for the money I saved by not renting a vehicle. We are going to have more fun this weekend since the rental-money went back in to the budget as fun-money! And I am thankful that being thankful is a choice that can always be made. I was made about wasting time when there are so many other things that I have to do. But I chose to be thankful that it was just a small amount of time when put in perspective; and there is still plenty of time to do the other things that need to be done!
