Present

Today I snuck away for a day and took my Mommy to lunch at the Grand Hotel!

She hadn’t been to Mackinaw Island in almost 40 years. She had never been close to the Grand Hotel. She had never been on the carriage rides around the island. And now she has 🙂

Tonight I am tired! I wouldn’t let her cancel our date just because of my knee! You know Moms don’t want their children to hurt themselves further on the Mom’s account. But I took my ibuprofen. I wore my knee brace. And we walked on smooth, paved surfaces mostly! It is bending my knee that is a problem (like stairs!).

Tonight I am thankful to be able to take my Mom away for a late Mother’s Day / Birthday present for a day of fun 🙂 She had a wonderful time ❤
