The Goal

Since the beginning of the year, I’ve known that this is the year that I am to work on having more time/room/margin in life. In a couple of weeks, we’ll be halfway thru the year. And I am a work in progress . . to say the least.

This vacation was another good wake up call, that I still have to fight for this. There are a lot of ways I could write that last sentence that would be a bit negative . . but at this point, I know this is not my strong suite, so there is no need elaborating on that point or reminding me that I have a ways to go in this.

So, instead, I am focusing on the things from vacation that I enjoyed! I enjoyed having time to exercise doing things I liked! I swam in the pool. I hiked on some trails. I chose the stairs over the elevator. I ate more fruit and protein. I slept a little more. These things were easier while on vacation!

So, to do these things in the regular day-to-day, I know what I need to do. I need to set boundaries for myself, and be intentional with them. And I will keep working towards this goal!!

Tonight I am thankful for the reminder from vacation to keep working towards the goal of more balance and time and peace in my day to day life! Seriously, this is going to take me all year. And maybe in to next year. But, as long as I don’t give up, then I’m winning! 🙂
