I got a little bothered yesterday. My car started leaking gasoline.
I was out with a kiddo. We had about a half hour drive home. When we got in to the car, I could smell it. But I figured that the smell must be coming from the parking lot we were in. I mean, surely not my car!
But we hopped on the highway to come home and kept smelling it. Then I glanced at the gas gauge and saw it going down rapidly.
It was one of those crappy life decision moments. Do we pull over, knowing that gas is somewhere leaving the vehicle? Or drive home, knowing there is a somewhat chance of the car catching on fire. I really don’t know how likely the fire thing would have been. But, it seems fairly likely on a hot day, in a hot car, zooming down the highway, with open gasoline somewhere in the vehicle, right?
I said a prayer, asking God to keep us safe and get us home. And we made it! This morning the car was towed away and is getting fixed.
So, I knew yesterday that we were blessed. The gas didn’t start leaking when we were up north a few days ago. It isn’t going to start leaking this weekend when we have plans. We made it home just fine and weren’t stranded on the highway. But, I was still feeling crabby about it last night.
So tonight I am thankful for all the things that were good in this situation! I am thankful that we made it home safely! I am thankful that the car didn’t catch on fire! I am thankful that we had enough gas in there to run out at a rapid pace and still make it home! I am thankful that we weren’t farther away! And I am thankful that this happened on a Wednesday, so we can get this all fixed and a plan before the weekend! Tonight I am not crabby! Tonight I am just thankful! ❤️❤️
