Tomorrow is the day! Groundhog day! 🙂
Ok, no, I don’t honestly believe that a groundhog can predict the weather. But, I think it is fun to play along. I need to find my groundhog hat! Yes, I have a groundhog hat! It is actually quite cute.
When the hubster and I got married, we decided to honeymoon in the beautiful Pocono mountains. We had a nice, scenic drive out there. And we stopped in the famous Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania! As one can imagine, a town famous for a February holiday was not very hopping in October. But we have some lovely photos in our photo album! And we bought some fun groundhog memorabilia!
I had plans to take the kids one day to see the groundhog merriment in Punxsutawney. Then I saw a video taken from the back of the crowd that gather there. Um . . . too many people for me! I cancelled those plans.
Instead of a trip to Pennsylvania, tomorrow we will listen to Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction from the warm comfort of our home in the wee hours of the morning! And we’ll watch Bill Murray’s Groundhog Day movie tomorrow afternoon. And eat popcorn. Yes, this sounds like a much better idea!
Tonight I am thankful for a fun tradition that gives a little hope, at least, that winter may not keep us frozen forever!
