Experience

For the past few months I’ve been slowly working my way thru my Entreleadership video series.  Today was the last video.

Wow.

I’ll just say . . Wow.

My mom used to tell me mistakes that she made, what she was thinking when she made them, and what happened afterwards.  She hoped that by sharing those things with me, that I could learn from her mistakes and not have to make those mistakes myself.  That lesson stuck with me.  And I regularly want to learn the good and the bad from others who have been where I’m going.  Or anyone who has been remotely close to where I’m going!

People don’t always like to share their mistakes.  Honestly I find that silly.  We are all human.  We all make mistakes.  It doesn’t make a person any less reputable or established to admit a mistake!  I think it makes a person more reputable and established when they discuss a mistake AND how they fixed it.  It is a bit comforting when you know that a person isn’t going down that road again!

So now imagine being a business owner.  Imagine being the owner of two businesses (and planning a possible third).  Momentum is building here!  Things are growing and expanding.  It’s wonderful!  And it’s easy to see how I could lose control and steer a business in to a tree if I’m not careful!!  Then, this whole Entreleadership-All-Access falls in to my lap.  And BOOM!  25 years of business advice, failures and successes, processes, procedures, philosophy, and technology is instantly at my fingertips to learn from!  And these are from a company who has done extremely well and is ran as an organization that is ranked a “best to place to work” for several years!

There is so much more available thru this program!  For now though, I’ve gotta take a break.  I’m thinking I’ll be back with this program as an annual January/February thing to help keep myself on track.  Right now, I’ve got a LOT of notes to go thru!  I’ve got a few mistakes I’ve already made to correct.  I’ve got planning to implement!  I’m pointed in a good direction and I’m moving that way!

Tonight I am thankful for Entreleadership!  If anyone is a small business owner or a leader of any kind, feel free to shoot me any questions about this thing.  It is amazing and will change the way you see your business and your people!
