I’m a “fixer” by nature. I have a desire to try to fix things for people. Over the years, I’ve learned a little bit to restrain this . . but it’s difficult.
There was a thing that I’ve wanted to fix for the hubster. He had a good experience in high school. He played sports: football, basketball, and track. He was in the band. He was Homecoming King his senior year. All these things! And he had no high school year book. No year book . . from any grade.
I am a picture person. I love pictures! And although I didn’t have near the high school experience that the hubster did; I still love my year books!
But really, how does one go back in time and get a yearbook for someone? When we got married, the hubster had been out of school for seven years! There was no way I could fix this.
And yet, it has bothered me that he doesn’t have his year books. It has bothered me for the twenty years that I’ve known him!
So, imagine my excitement when I read a note from the school that they were selling old yearbooks!! The school had a bunch of old year books. They were keeping two of each year, and selling the rest. Tonight, during conferences, I stopped by the yearbook table and was able to buy 3 of the 4 years that the hubster was in high school!!! They were only missing his freshman year.
Tonight I am thankful for the chance to finally give the hubster his yearbooks! I seriously never thought this would be a possibility!!! And although he didn’t act like it was a big deal; he’s had a good time so far looking back at his high school memories! 🙂
