Spring Break Food

I’ve been trying not to spend too much on groceries lately.  We are buying half of a cow with a friend and I’d like the cost to come from our grocery budget.  So we’ve been eating lots from the cupboard and freezer.

Then comes spring break.  The kids were telling me that there is nothing to eat.  I went and looked.  And . . . well we have ingredients for big meals.  But we truly don’t have a ton of things they can make easily to eat.

After the ninja gym tonight, my son and I stopped at Aldi’s.  I love that store!  I hadn’t been there in a few weeks.  We bought fairly healthy food to last thru spring break.  We had a cart filled with food and household products.  And our total bill was $125.  This would have easily been a $225 bill at a bigger grocery store.

Tonight I am thankful for leaving a grocery store with lots of food for my family at a very low price!  Yay for Aldi’s!
