A friend had a rough time last school year with one of her kiddos. She told me several times, I’m not going to kill him . . .
That is a good parental exclamation.
Today not one, but two of my kiddos broke trust. I was unhappy (to put it lightly). And I am proud to say, I didn’t kill them.
Of course I love my kiddos! But sometimes holding my breath and counting to Ten or Twenty or One Hundred is all I can do while trying to remain calm.
Tonight I’ll be thankful that the kiddos are alive and well. Hopefully some lessons were learned today that don’t need to be repeated any time soon. But if they are, well, I won’t kill them then either. That’s what love is.
