Christmas

Tis days before Christmas and all through the house;
daily plans are busy to make sure nothing gets left outs(s – so it rhymes).

Presents need wrapping and food needs to be prepped.
To bed I’ll be going so in the morning I’ve slept.

Christmas movies are playing on the tv.
I need a couple more weeks to see all there is to see.

I should have taken a week’s vacation;
With all the Christmas plans we’ve been makin’

Christmas isn’t about things or lists or food
Although those things help get us in the mood.

Tonight I am thankful for all that we have;
and that when Christmas means love, we are not destined to be sad.
