Seeing Red

Thursday night we decided to get a hotel for Friday night. It made sense. We had to be at wrestling Regionals early on Saturday. And the weather is unpredictable.

I hopped on hotels.com and found a cheaply priced hotel that had good ratings. When I told my wrestling kiddo about it, he had questions. So I went online again, but this time I went to the hotel chain’s website. Uh Oh. On the hotel chain’s website, this particular hotel had some unpleasant ratings and comments.

I told the kiddo that we would go, see what we thought, and then decide on our next course of action. The hotel was ok. I’ve been to better. I’ve been to worse. It definitely could have used a really good cleaning. But, we were only there for one night. So we decided to make the best of it.

Turns out the beds were not comfortable. And the light from the parking lot shined right in the window, as the curtains did not close all the way. And actually could not close completely, the way they were installed. I did not sleep super great. As you can see, my eyes were a bit red and tired. I did not bring eye drops.

Tonight I am thankful that I stayed awake all day! And I am thankful that I get to sleep in my own bed tonight!!
