I don’t know about you, but I could totally use another weekend!
I’ve spent too much of this weekend feeling unhappy about the upcoming week. The calendar is full . . too full. Do you know what I’ve gained by the time this weekend that I’ve spent not looking forward to this upcoming week? Nothing. I’ve gained absolutely nothing! On the contrary, I’ve lost some peace. That’s not cool.
So, here’s what I’m working on . . contentment. How does one work on contentment? “In a heart filled with gratitude, there is no room for discontentment.”
Gratitude. Ok, I can do that.
Tonight I am thankful that we got some important things done this weekend. I am thankful that my floors are clean and my business accounting is caught up. Looking towards the upcoming week, I actually have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for the chance to learn new things and have my team learn new things. I am thankful for work that supports our family and keeps us warm and fed. I am thankful for healthy, happy kids who are able to go learn things and work/play at different activities. I really have much to be thankful for. The calendar doesn’t control my happiness; I do that.
