Henry House Theater

I was thinking about how to make Valentine’s Day special in our house. I stumbled across an idea and loved it. I shared it with the hubster and he was onboard!

This morning I had to run out for a house, so I stopped by the grocery store on the way home. We were going to wait until tonight. But I found so many good things that we decided to do our plan right away this afternoon so that the kiddos didn’t see all the things and get suspiscious!

We were trying to think of what to name our venue. And, well, Henry the dog was very interested in what we were doing. So the Henry House Theater was born! There was a one time only showing today of Happy Gilmore. The kiddos hadn’t seen that one yet. And we figured it should be good entertainment for the teenagers! (They just don’t all stay tuned in to a Disney show like they used to!)

We had all sorts of treats at the FREE Concession stand (generously sponsored by Dad & Mom Inc, per the sign posted at the concession stand). The kiddos each had a foil, roasting pan to hold their goodies as they made their way to their seats.

I will say that our opening night was met with rave reviews! The only negative feedback was sadly, about our theater’s owner and namesake, Henry the dog. He was rather rude to our patrons! Begging for their food and invading their personal space. But, other than that, a good time was had by all!

Tonight I am thankful for a special at-home Valentine’s Day event that was met with approval from (almost) four teenage kiddos!
