I wanted a different backsplash in the kitchen at the new house. This particular kitchen could, I think, pull off that silver, tin look. So I wanted to give it a try.
Um . . yeah . . well . . the cost of the actual metal pieces is NOT something I am willing to pay. I don’t know . . maybe I’m cheap. Or maybe it is because my appraiser/realtor side really doesn’t want me over-spending for the type of house that this home is. I think it is more my frugal side. But, anyway, I wasn’t going to buy the real thing.
I know I had seen the peel and stick variety somewhere. I checked a few stores, but couldn’t find them. So, I went online to amazon. They had what I wanted! I ordered enough for the whole kitchen and in just a few days time, they arrived!!
When I opened up the box . . I was not thrilled. I had not received a silver square that looked like metal. Nope, I received a gray square that looked like plastic. I was less than thrilled. But I kept looking at it, trying to give it a chance.
Today my kiddo took a square outside and sprayed it with silver spray paint. That was it! That was the look I wanted!! So I took all the tiles out and sprayed them! Hooray!
Tonight I am thankful that I don’t have to use the gray tiles (left). I can use silver tiles like I wanted (right)! Hooray!!!
